#513 - The Goodness of God

Just like the sun radiates heat, God radiates goodness. James 1:17 says, "Every good gift comes from our Father in heaven." You may feel like God isn't working in your life, but God is constantly showing His goodness. Many wait for God to part the Red Seas in life and perform great miracles. While God does perform large miracles, God shows up daily in our lives with His goodness. The question is do we recognize it. Psalm 34:8 says, "Taste and see that the Lord is good." (NIV) If you're going to taste God's goodness, you have to realize that every good break, every time you were protected, every door that opened, every advantage that you've had is God working in your life. God wants you to be aware of His goodness, but the key is you have to recognize it. It's not a coincidence that you met your spouse and fell in love. God directed your steps. It's not a lucky break that you got your job. It was God's hand of favor. The fact that your children are strong and healthy is not just good fortune. That's God being good to you. All through the day we should be saying, "Thank You, Lord, for Your goodness. Thank You for my health. Thank You for my spouse. Thank You for the opportunity You have given me." Anytime something good happens, be quick to give God the credit. As you acknowledge His goodness, you will see more of God's hand in your life, your faith will increase, and you will walk in more victory.
